The Duke of Edinburgh’s visit to Longbridge


During a visit to the Longbridge Factory by the Duke of Edinburgh. The duke said to Sir Leonard Lord, ‘Sir Leonard, I think you ought to have another look at things because I’m not sure these are up to foreign competition’. Next day Farina was sent for. He flew in one morning and went away that night with an £84,000 contract to design our first Farinas.
